We are what we have gone through

I’m almost 25.

In elementary school, I was told by Katherine that my breath stinks and no one wants to be my friend.

In junior high, I was sent an IM on AIM by Becca and she told me that I was pathetic. I was also sent a message by Mckenzie that I was too ugly, I was too pale, my clothes were ugly, and that everyone actually hated me.

In 8th grade, Jerika tried to get me kicked out. It didn’t work, but they guidance counselor told her children not to hang out with me. It spread through out my entire grade so I transferred schools.

In 10th grade, Jerika transferred to the school that I did and told everyone we were best friends.

In 12th grade, I was told that I looked like I had down syndrome by Josh. He was my boyfriend. He also lied about cheating on me to see me cry.

When I was 21, I had a boyfriend who forced me to have sex with him or he threatened to break up with me.

When I was 22, Taylor accused me of stealing her tattoo idea and bashed me on Facebook where others told me how I’m a bitch.

When I was 22, I had a boyfriend who told me I wasn’t successful enough to be his girlfriend.

When I was 23, I had a boyfriend cheat on me with his ex.

I’m 25 years old with my 4 month old son and my fiancé. These moments still affect me. I cried in the kitchen holding my son today, because I felt like I wasn’t good enough for anyone. I don’t want friends, I don’t like people. This is because I don’t want to be rejected. We are what we have gone through. I am made out of what these people have done to me.

I dread the moment my son starts getting bullied and his heart broken.

I can tell myself that I am worth it. I can tell myself that they were hurt people themselves. I can tell myself that I am better than them. I can tell myself that I have loving people in my life now.

I can tell myself all of it, but those words can’t be taken back. They have done their damage.

  1. We all get hurt, and it’s no use ignoring it. I don’t know you well, but you seem to be quite the resilient person. The more a soul withstands tragedy the greater it is!
Best wishes to you and your son in the future~

  2. I’ve been through similar experiences. I know how bad they can hurt. I try my hardest to not let my experiences dictate who I am. And it’s not easy at all. I have my bad days. But on my good days I look around me at my kids and I realize how wrong the bullies where. My kids think I’m perfect and my husband adores me. They were wrong about me… and they were wrong about you!! Your a fierce beautiful Momma don’t think otherwise!!

  3. You ARE worth it, and definitely worth so much more than those people. I know what’s it like to be bullied throughout school, and to be put down even now. I only hope and wish if I have children, that they never go through the same, and never know what it’s like to go to sleep crying. ❤

  4. I hate to hear people were so mean to you. I know it is hard to forget those terrible things you went through, but those events made you stronger than you realize. I think most people have experienced hateful moments or time lines in their lives. You are in a good place in life now with your precious son and fiancé. With what you dealt with in the past try not to carry that into your relationship now. Sending you much love and comfort ♡

  5. The painful memories you shared remind me of my own painful memories with bullies. I still have a couple that hit me very hard when I think of it. It feels like I get sucked back into the moment and I have to shake myself out of it with the realization the memory has been done with for a while now and those people no longer matter.

  6. Wow, I’m so sorry that you have gone through all of this. I guess our experiences form part of us and – hopefully for the better (thought it might not seem like it) – shape us going forward.

  7. You have had enough strength to write about it you surely have enough strength to overcome it. Your strength can be a deterrent of this happening to others.🙏
